5) Vasculitis

Inflammation of the blood vessels is known as vasculitis. In addition, patients suffering from hepatitis B face a disease called polyarteritis nodosa. The rare disorders lead to inflammation of the vessels that in turn cause organ damage.

Hepatitis B-induced Polyarteritis nodosa may present itself in the following ways:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Bloody stools
  • Painful and sore muscles
  • Skin ulcers

Studies have found a strong link between polyarteritis nodosa and hepatitis B infection. Moreover, as per research, polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) can give rise to renal and gastrointestinal complications, which can be fatal.
