Soft-tissue masses in the skin
Sometimes, doctors can find small masses in the skin after a close inspection. In multiple myeloma patients, these masses are probably an accumulation of plasma cells, and they can be found almost anywhere in the body. Those found in the skin are easier to notice. Still, we can also have them in the ear canal, the eye, the rectum, prostate, gastric mucosa, or the abdomen’s inner covering of the abdomen (peritoneum).
